Sea Kayaking Skills Courses

Learn new skills. Our highly qualified coaches have spent a lifetime honing their skills to help you improve yours. Whether you just want to improve your kayaking or obtain a paddlesports award, the choice is yours. Skills sessions can include strokes, rescues, navigation, connectivity, turning, rolling, and much more. A typical Sea Kayaking skills course runs over 4 sessions x 2 Hours.

Guided Coastal Kayak Tours

Gather a group of friends and enjoy a half day or full day kayak trip. SLAC is a mobile operation and we love to explore the Northern Ireland coastline. With a variety of sea kayaking trails to choose from, let us guide you on your next adventure. However we are based close to the most spectacular Sea kayak haven – Strangford Lough. It has everything from , wildlife, tidal rips, scenery and attractions as well as a bothy to stay in or islands to camp on. Have some experience? Want to go it alone? Why not hire a kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid and wetsuit and explore the islands of Strangford Lough at your leisure. Kayak, Canoe and Paddle Board Hire available daily.

Birthday Parties

Join one of our guided SUP tours using high-quality touring boards. Tours explore scenic routes, islands, and points of interest on Strangford Lough and can also be arranged at other suitable locations across Northern Ireland. Minimum numbers apply.

Events

We organise a range of SUP events and experiences throughout the year, including popular options such as Sunrise SUP and island Yoga sessions, Singles SUP, Sunset Paddle & BBQ, Full Moon Paddles. Larger group and multi-activity events can also be arranged on request.

Skill Courses

Learn to SUP in more depth on our structured paddle board skills courses. These courses cover strokes, turning, balance, rescues, safety, and the theory of tides and weather. Courses typically run over several weeks and provide a solid foundation for confident paddling. We have courses for beginners and improvers.

Mobile Sessions

As a mobile activity provider, Strangford Lough Activity Centre can deliver stand up paddle boarding sessions at suitable locations across Northern Ireland. Mobile SUP sessions are ideal for schools, organisations, and events with access to calm water environments.
