Halloween Full Moon Paddle

Join us for a Halloween Full Moon Paddle on Strangford Lough. Firstly, the Blue Moon is unique to witness and no better place to do so, than from a kayak, paddle board or open canoe on a flat sea. Some might say you only see it ‘once in a blue moon’! Departing at twilight you will be guided by an instructor for a paddle out onto Strangford Lough and around the islands. With a favourable forecast, we hope to have a great view of the stars and Blue Moon. After that, we’ll return to base and enjoy some hot chocolate and brownies from local company Rachel’s Bakes before heading home.

As this is a Halloween event, we suggest you wear fancy dress, bring glow sticks and tell ghost stories to your fellow paddlers! Prizes for best fancy dress.

What is a Blue Moon?

A Blue Moon is the second full moon in a single calendar month. It only¬†happens once every few years, and only happens at Halloween every 18/19 years.¬†It’s unlikely to be blue in colour (unless you use a good Instagram filter)!
